Bolivian Colonel Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Arms Possession, Faces Extradition to U.S.

A high-ranking Bolivian Air Force colonel has been arrested on charges of international drug trafficking and illegal arms possession. The arrest, a coordinated effort involving Bolivia's Special Force to Combat Drug Trafficking (Felcn), Interpol, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), occurred as the colonel was leaving his residence.

Officials confirmed the colonel, identified as H.R.C.G., was apprehended based on an Interpol red notice. This international alert flagged him for conspiracy to import cocaine destined for distribution within the United States, as well as for possessing high-caliber machine guns.

The arrest is considered a significant success in the ongoing fight against international drug cartels. Reports indicate that the military officer, who is reportedly in active reserve, did not resist during his apprehension.
