Border Guard arrests 8, seizes 280 kg khat and 52 kg hashish in Asir, Jazan

Saudi Border Guard land patrols have apprehended eight Ethiopian nationals across Asir and Jazan for violating the Kingdom's border security regulations. The arrests were made during three distinct operations aimed at curbing illegal smuggling activities.

In the Asir region, patrols in the Al-Rabwah Sector detained two Ethiopians attempting to smuggle 200 kilograms of khat. In a separate incident within Asir, two more Ethiopian nationals were arrested in the Dhahran Al-Janub Sector, with authorities seizing 52 kilograms of hashish.

Further operations in the Jazan region, specifically in the Al-Dair Sector, led to the arrest of four Ethiopian nationals. These individuals were found to be in possession of 80 kilograms of khat, intended for smuggling. All legal procedures have been completed for the suspects in these cases, and they have been transferred, along with the confiscated drugs, to the appropriate judicial authorities.
