Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro Elected New PENGASSAN President

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has elected Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro as its new National President, marking a new era for the influential workers' association. Olabiyi-Agoro, a distinguished Petroleum Engineer and labor leader, takes over from Festus Osifo, who also leads the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

Olabiyi-Agoro emerged unopposed at the association's Quadrennial Delegates Conference in Abuja. He brings more than two decades of experience in Nigeria's oil and gas sector to his new leadership role. Currently serving with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), his career includes extensive technical and operational experience with major industry players like Baker Hughes and EA Temile and Sons.

His professional qualifications are matched by strong academic credentials, including a Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Aberdeen and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering. Olabiyi-Agoro is also a recognized figure in organized labor, having served as Chairman of the TUC Oyo State Council and held various key positions within PENGASSAN, including National Financial Secretary and National Auditor.

In his acceptance speech, Olabiyi-Agoro pledged to prioritize workers' welfare and build upon the legacies of his predecessor. His leadership is expected to combine his technical expertise, industry insight, and trade union experience as PENGASSAN embarks on a new chapter.
