Bougainville marks Peace and Patriotism with a renewed independence pledge

Bougainville has marked two landmark dates in its political calendar with renewed calls for unity and self-determination.

Leaders used the commemorations to urge the next generation to carry forward what they described as the region’s unfinished independence struggle.
