Boy dies after cycling into parked lorry in Co Waterford

A teenage boy has died after his bicycle collided with a parked lorry in Lismore, Co Waterford, on Tuesday morning. The tragic accident occurred shortly after 11 am on the N72 road in Ballygalane.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was subsequently removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination. The driver of the lorry was uninjured in the incident.

The road, which had been closed to facilitate a technical examination by gardaí (Irish police), has since reopened. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could assist their investigation.

In particular, gardaí are seeking assistance from road users who may have camera footage and were traveling on the N72 between Lismore and Cappoquin between 10:30 am and 11:15 am on Tuesday.
