BPK Official Challenges KPK Suspect Status in Bribery Case via Pre-Trial Motion

Titin Rita Lestari, the lead examiner for the South Sumatra (Sumsel) representative office of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), has filed a pre-trial motion against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). She is challenging her designation as a suspect in a bribery case linked to influencing audit reports for the Muara Enim Regency.

The pre-trial motion was registered at the South Jakarta District Court on July 31, 2026, under case number 131/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL. The case classification concerns the legality of the forced designation of suspects. The KPK is listed as the respondent. The initial hearing is scheduled for August 18.

The KPK uncovered two bribery cases in Muara Enim in June 2026 through a series of sting operations. One case involves manipulating audit findings for procurement projects by allegedly bribing BPK officials. This is connected to a separate bribery case involving the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, for procurement projects.

In the BPK bribery case, five individuals were named suspects: Regent Edison, Titin Rita Lestari (technical controller), Augusz Dewanggara (private sector intermediary), Cory Erin Hardi (marketing for PT MSA), and Fika (director of PT MSA). Titin, however, has denied receiving any money, stating she was only an executor and that her superiors were the recipients. The KPK stated that BPK found audit findings exceeding materiality limits in the regency's financial reports for the 2025 fiscal year, leading to the investigation.
