Brøndby signs Austrian defender Olivier from Stuttgart

Danish football club Brøndby IF has secured the signing of Austrian right-back Christopher Olivier, a 20-year-old talent acquired from German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. The club announced the transfer on its website, confirming a contract that extends through the summer of 2030. Olivier will wear the number three jersey.

While Olivier has primarily featured for Stuttgart's second team, Brøndby's football director, Julius Ohnesorge, emphasized the player's development potential. "Christopher fits the profile we are looking for very well, and the profile that should characterize our squad. Hungry and ambitious players who can perform here and now, but who also have great development potential," Ohnesorge stated.

The football director also noted Olivier's versatility, suggesting he can contribute in a central midfield role. Olivier is set to begin training with Brøndby on Tuesday. The player himself expressed excitement about the move, calling it a "fantastic feeling" to switch German football for a career in Denmark. "It is a huge club with lots of fans and history. At the same time, it is a really cool move for me, where I also get the opportunity to showcase myself on a bigger stage," Olivier said, adding that he is eager to play at Brøndby Stadium.
