Bran Castle lit in U.S. flag colors for American Independence Day

Bran Castle, famously known as Dracula's Castle, was illuminated in the vibrant colors of the American flag to mark the United States' Independence Day. The striking display was shared by U.S. Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg in Bucharest as a response to felicitations from Romanian authorities.

This symbolic lighting of the historic castle served as a visual representation of the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

The ambassador further elaborated on the shared commitments that bind the U.S. and Romania, highlighting their joint dedication to regional security, economic growth, and democratic resilience. He specifically praised Romania's significant contributions to global security and prosperity, characterizing its efforts on NATO's eastern flank as embodying the principle of "peace through strength." Nirenberg also pointed to Romania's consistent exceeding of defense spending targets and their pioneering joint efforts in next-generation civil nuclear technology and Black Sea energy resource development as crucial for economic sovereignty.
