Brandenburg Gourmet Restaurants Defend Michelin Stars

Food lovers in Brandenburg will continue to find gourmet dining options as three restaurants in the German state have successfully defended their Michelin stars. The "Sawito" in Falkensee, "Kochzimmer" in Potsdam, and "Alte Überfahrt" in Werder (Havel) all retained their coveted stars in the latest guide.

"Sawito" was a recent addition to the starred gastronomy scene, having earned its first star just last year. This year's guide recognizes a total of 339 restaurants across Germany with at least one star. The highest echelon, featuring three stars, includes 12 establishments considered the "German gastro elite," among them the renowned "Rutz" in Berlin.

The capital city boasts a significant number of top-tier dining establishments, with 19 Michelin-starred restaurants. Two stars were again awarded to several prominent Berlin restaurants, including "Coda," "Facil," "Horváth," and "Tim Raue."

Michelin inspectors, who possess culinary training, conduct unannounced visits to evaluate restaurants based on standardized criteria. These include preparation, taste, personal touch, value for money, and consistent quality. The "Guide Michelin," alongside "Gault&Millau," is considered a leading international restaurant guide, with even a single star representing a significant achievement.
