Brandenburg's Day of Industrial Culture invites exploration of heritage sites and museums

Brandenburg is set to celebrate its rich industrial past with the annual Day of Industrial Culture this Saturday. Over 30 diverse locations across the state will open their doors, inviting the public to explore sites that have shaped the region's history.

The event, organized by the Brandenburg Museum Association and the Tourist Network Industrial Culture, aims to bring industrial heritage out of its niche and into the public consciousness. From the Prignitz region in the north to Lusatia in the south, former industrial facilities and technology museums will offer rare glimpses into their past operations. Visitors can expect guided tours, excursions, hands-on activities, and artistic presentations.

Highlights include a special sunset tour at the Niederfinow ship lift, offering a unique perspective on this impressive feat of engineering as day turns to night. In the Lausitz region, the F60 visitor mine will host an evening program featuring a light show and fireworks. The organizers also point to lesser-known gems like the Kunstgussmuseum Lauchhammer and the Brikettfabrik Louise as must-visit sites for those seeking unique experiences.
