Brassband Bacchus, hailing from Lennik, has achieved a remarkable second place at the prestigious World Music Contest held in Kerkrade. As the reigning world champions, the band competed under the baton of conductor Bart Van Neyghem, aiming to defend their title.

Their performance earned them a silver medal, with a score of 95.26 percent. They were narrowly outperformed by the new world champions, Brassband Pro Rege from the Netherlands, by a mere 0.27 percent. This result reaffirms Brassband Bacchus's standing among the world's elite brass bands.
