Brazil's World Cup-winning coach Carlos Alberto Parreira out of intensive care

Carlos Alberto Parreira, the celebrated former coach of the Brazilian national football team, has shown clinical improvement and has been transferred from intensive care to a semi-intensive unit. The 83-year-old football legend has been hospitalized since mid-June at the Samaritano Hospital in Rio de Janeiro.

Parreira was admitted due to pulmonary inflammation and has been dealing with related kidney problems. However, the latest medical report indicates a positive turn, stating that he is "lucid, cooperative, and with his renal function stabilized." This news offers a hopeful update on the health of the man who guided Brazil to their fourth World Cup title in 1994, with stars like Romario and Bebeto.

Parreira holds a unique record with six World Cup appearances as a head coach, managing teams including Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil itself. His coaching career also includes leading Brazil in the 1994 and 2006 World Cups, and the host nation South Africa in 2010.
