Brazilian Geyse leads América's rout of Necaxa

Brazilian striker Geyse was the star of the show, netting four goals to lead the reigning champions América to a resounding 7-0 victory over Necaxa in the Mexican women's football Apertura. Her impressive performance propelled her to the top of the league's scoring charts.

The match, part of the fourth round of the Apertura, saw América, managed by Spanish coach Ángel Villacampa, put on a dominant display. The team, known as 'Las Águilas,' confirmed their status as leaders of Group B, extending their winning streak to four consecutive matches.

Geyse opened the scoring with two quick goals in the 3rd and 25th minutes, striking with her right foot past the Necaxa goalkeeper. Spain's Irene Guerrero converted a penalty in the 30th minute, and Geyse added her third goal just before halftime, making it 4-0 with a right-footed shot.

In the second half, Aylín Avilez scored in the 45th minute, followed by Jana Gutierrez's long-range strike in the 54th minute. Geyse completed her four-goal haul in the 57th minute with a powerful shot into the top corner, sealing the comprehensive victory.

With these four goals, Geyse now leads the league's top scorers with a total of eight goals. She is two goals ahead of Diana Ordóñez of Tigres UANL and Venezuela's Enyer Higuera of San Luis. América leads Group B with 12 points, three points clear of Chivas de Guadalajara, who lost 3-1 to Pachuca.
