British actor Tim Curry dies at 80

British actor Tim Curry, celebrated for his versatile performances across film, television, and stage, has died at the age of 80. Curry passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Monday night, as confirmed by his longtime manager and friend, Marcia Hurwitz.

Curry gained widespread recognition for his role as hotel concierge Hector in the 1992 film "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," where he played a pivotal part in the comedic pursuit of Kevin McCallister. However, his career-defining performance arguably came in the 1975 cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," in which he portrayed the iconic Dr. Frank N. Furter.

His extensive filmography also includes memorable roles such as the sinister clown Pennywise in the 1990 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's "It." Curry also appeared in films like "Clue," "The Hunt for Red October," and "The Three Musketeers."

On stage, Curry was a formidable presence, earning three Tony Award nominations for his work in musicals such as "Amadeus," "My Favorite Year," and "Spamalot." Despite suffering a stroke in 2012, which led him to use a wheelchair, he continued his career, notably in voice acting, and released his memoir, "Me: A Memoir," last year.
