Chadbon enjoyed a career spanning over four decades in British television. Among his most memorable roles was his portrayal of private detective Duggan in the 1979 "Doctor Who" story "City of Death," which starred Tom Baker. The plot was set in Paris and involved a scheme to steal the Mona Lisa. He later reprised his role in the series in 1986 as Merdeen in "The Mysterious Planet."

His extensive television credits also include appearances in popular productions such as "Where the Heart Is," "The Bill," "Midsomer Murders," and "Casualty," the latter of which he joined in 2008.
