British Defense Secretary's plane jammed near Russian border

British Defense Secretary John Healey was subjected to electronic jamming while on board a Royal Air Force flight operating near the Russian border, according to reports. The incident occurred on Thursday, shortly after Healey concluded a visit to British troops stationed in Estonia.

The jamming disrupted the aircraft's communication equipment, forcing pilots to switch to an alternative navigation system. The plane's GPS system was reportedly disabled for the entire three-hour journey. It remains unclear whether Healey was the specific target of the electronic interference, though his flight path was visible on flight-tracking services.

This event follows closely on the heels of another recent incident in the Black Sea, where a British surveillance aircraft and two Russian fighter jets engaged in a near-miss encounter. The UK Ministry of Defence had previously condemned the Russian jets' actions as "repeated and dangerous" intercepts, with one instance bringing a Russian aircraft just six meters from the British plane's nose.
