British F1 driver Lando Norris renews with McLaren until 2030

British Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has committed his future to McLaren, signing a contract extension that will keep him with the team until at least 2030. The announcement, made by the British team, comes less than a week after Norris secured a significant victory in the Netherlands, his second consecutive win following a triumph in Hungary.

McLaren is my home and I am delighted to sign a new contract that will keep me with the team until at least 2030.

These recent successes have fueled optimism for the team's championship aspirations. The new agreement includes an option for further extension beyond 2030. Norris, who joined McLaren's junior program at the age of 17 and made his F1 debut in 2019, stated his delight at extending his stay with the team he considers his "home."

"When I started this journey nine years ago, it was clear the goals I wanted to achieve: to bring McLaren back to the front and win championships," Norris said in a statement. "We have achieved that goal, but we want more, we want to keep winning, and we know, as a team, that we are capable of achieving it." The 26-year-old driver currently holds fourth place in the drivers' championship standings.

Lando has been an integral part of McLaren's journey over the last nine years, and we are delighted to continue the collaboration with him.

As a gesture from the team, Norris will receive an MCL39 car, the model with which he became world champion in 2025. Norris's teammate, Oscar Piastri, also renewed his contract earlier in 2025, extending his deal until 2028.
