Broadcom Celebrates 50 Years, Eyes Growth in AI, Semiconductors, Robotics, and Drones

Broadcom, a prominent smart manufacturing firm, marked its 50th anniversary with a large-scale "50th Anniversary Family Day Event" held at the National Taiwan University Sports Center. Founded in 1976 by Chairman Hsieh Ching-fu and Vice President Pai Chou-huang with a modest capital of NT$100,000, the company has grown significantly over five decades through a spirit of hard work and continuous learning.

Looking ahead, Chairman Hsieh Ming-kai emphasized two key strategic initiatives poised for significant returns: Jinyun Technology, which focuses on AI data center water-cooling solutions, and Shengxin Materials, specializing in third-generation semiconductors. Both ventures have shown promising results this year, contributing to Broadcom's expansion into AI, semiconductors, robotics, and drone technologies.

Broadcom's journey began with automated equipment, and it has since diversified into electronics, machinery, and chemical industries. The company has also undertaken major public infrastructure projects, including terminals at Taoyuan International Airport, safety doors for the MRT system, and the National Library. Recognizing the burgeoning AI trend, Broadcom proactively invested in water-cooling system research seven years ago, anticipating the rapid growth in demand for AI servers and data centers.

With a solid foundation in technology, talent, and industry, Broadcom is confident about its future. The company anticipates continued strong growth, with semiconductor-related orders experiencing a multi-fold increase compared to last year. AI data center businesses are projected to grow by 20% to 30% this year, with Shengxin Materials showing particularly remarkable performance, surpassing its entire previous year's revenue in the first half of 2026. Broadcom aims to maintain double-digit growth moving forward.
