Brothers End 9-Game Losing Streak to Dragons with Early Offensive Surge

The CTBC Brothers baseball team ended a frustrating nine-game losing streak against the Wei Chuan Dragons on Sunday, securing a much-needed lead early in the game. This marks the first time the Brothers have been ahead of the Dragons in over two weeks, offering a glimmer of hope for the struggling team.

Before Sunday's game, the Brothers had a dismal record of 3 wins and 13 losses against the Dragons this season. Their last lead against the Dragons was on July 14, during the fifth inning of a game in Chiayi City. However, that lead was short-lived, as they ultimately lost that game 1-2 and were shut out 0-4 the following day.

In Sunday's crucial series finale, the Brothers' offense came alive in the first inning against Dragons' starting pitcher Drew Rucinski. A series of consecutive hits, including a double by Chan Tzu-Hsien and a ground ball that resulted in an fielder's choice, allowed the Brothers to score four runs. Catcher Kao Yu-Chieh also contributed with a timely two-run single, extending their lead.
