Brutal killing of Chinese dog and her pups sparks outrage

A group of protesters gathered in Sydney to call for justice following the horrific killing of a stray dog and her puppies in China. The incident, which occurred in Jieyang, Guangdong, in late June, has ignited widespread anger and calls for improved animal welfare protections.

The dog, known as Wang Wang, and three of her puppies were allegedly subjected to a brutal attack. Reports and circulated footage indicate the animals were beaten with sticks before being set on fire. Chinese authorities confirmed that four boys, all under the age of 14, were involved in the incident.

While the boys will be sent to special schools for behavioral correction, they will not face prosecution. This decision has fueled public outrage, with many demanding the enactment of a national animal welfare law in China. Social media platforms saw an outpouring of grief and anger, but many posts were subsequently censored.
