BTS Declines Grammy Consideration for New Asian Pop Category

Global music sensation BTS has announced they will not submit their songs for consideration at the upcoming Grammy Awards, specifically opting out of the newly established category for Best Asian Pop Music Performance. The seven-member group conveyed their decision online in a unified message.

In their statement, BTS expressed a desire for their music to be recognized for its inherent quality, rather than being categorized by geographical location or linguistic barriers. "We hope our music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language," the band's message read. They also extended their gratitude to their dedicated fanbase, known as Army.

Despite previous nominations, including a shared nod for Album of the Year and five total nominations, BTS has yet to secure a Grammy win.

This decision comes as BTS returns to active performance following a hiatus for military service and solo projects. The group recently released their fifth studio album, "ARIRANG," and has been touring extensively. They also participated in the FIFA World Cup final halftime show.
