BTS member V reveals significant hearing loss in one ear

V, a member of the globally renowned South Korean group BTS, has disclosed a personal health challenge: significant hearing loss in one ear. The singer revealed during a recent live broadcast on Weverse, a platform dedicated to K-pop fans, that he has been dealing with this issue for over two years.

Kim Taehyung, V's real name, explained that his hearing impairment is considerable, stating, "If one ear is at 100%, with the other I can only hear around 30%." He admitted that he initially did not pay enough attention to the symptoms, partly influenced by comments from others who suggested his struggles were a matter of "mental strength." This led him to believe the issue was psychological rather than physical.

V shared that the problem may have worsened during his military service. He is now actively seeking medical care and regularly attends hospital appointments to monitor his condition. During the broadcast, his bandmate Jung Kook emphasized the importance of consistent health monitoring.
