Budrys to attend EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg

Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Minister Kęstutis Budrys is set to participate in the upcoming European Union Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting in Luxembourg. The agenda includes critical discussions on pressing international issues, highlighting the EU's engagement with global challenges.

During the meeting, ministers are expected to deliberate on the volatile situation in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the war in Iran, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, and the regional consequences of these events. Additionally, discussions will address EU-China relations, specifically examining the security threats emanating from China.

Prior to the FAC session, an informal discussion will take place with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. Following the council meeting, an Intergovernmental Conference will be held with Ukraine and Moldova to officially open the first chapters of their EU membership negotiations, marking a significant step in their integration process.
