Buenos Aires offers diverse activities for final winter holiday weekend

Buenos Aires is buzzing with activities as it bids farewell to the winter school holidays. Residents and visitors can choose from a diverse range of free and paid events across the city during the weekend of August 1 and 2.

The "Cafecito BA en tu barrio" event at Parque Rivadavia offers coffee lovers a chance to explore over ten local cafes. Running from Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening, the fair features live music, DJ sets, outdoor cinema, reading sessions, and a children's play area. Attendees can enjoy coffee and pastries at promotional prices, with cafes starting at $4,000 and pastries from $3,500.

Families can head to the Parque Ferroviario for a festival on Sunday, featuring stage performances, workshops, games, and bicycle riding lessons for children. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For a touch of culture, the Ciudad Cultural Konex presents "La Bella Durmiente," a children's adaptation of Tchaikovsky's classic ballet. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday mornings. Ticket prices range from $17,000 to $30,000.

Additionally, various city parks and squares will host free activities on Saturday afternoon, including treasure hunts, clown workshops, magic shows, and live music, complemented by a gastronomic area. The Parque de la Ciudad also offers an extensive play circuit for those seeking more active entertainment.
