Bugerere Unveils 25-Man Squad Ahead of Masaza Cup 2026

Bugerere Ssaza has unveiled its 25-man squad for the forthcoming Masaza Cup tournament, which commences on June 13. The team aims to improve on its performance from the 2025 tournament, where they were eliminated in the semi-finals by Ssingo FC.

To strengthen the squad, six experienced players have been added to key departments. Team manager Andrew Ssekitto expressed satisfaction with the team's preparations, acknowledging a recent 1-0 friendly defeat to Bulemeezi but asserting that it does not reflect their readiness. "We lost to Bulemeezi in a build-up game, but that result does not reflect our readiness. The players have trained well, team spirit is high, and we are confident of putting up a strong performance in this year's tournament," Ssekitto said. He highlighted the positive impact of the new senior players, noting their experience and leadership.

Bugerere County Chief Samuel Ssemugooma urged supporters, players, and officials to uphold discipline, emphasizing the tournament's role in promoting unity, culture, and development within the Buganda Kingdom. "The tournament is not only about football but also about bringing people together. We appeal to all supporters to remain disciplined and uphold the values of Buganda Kingdom throughout the competition," he stated. Bugerere is grouped with Ssingo, Kooki, Butambala, and Kabula in the Muganzirwazza group and will face Kooki in their opening match on June 21.
