Bulog Indramayu Achieves Record Grain and Rice Absorption

Perum Bulog's Indramayu branch has recorded its highest-ever grain and rice absorption volume, reaching an equivalent of 156,000 tons of rice by mid-July 2026. This achievement signifies 90% of the branch's 2026 target of 174,000 tons, with Bulog expressing confidence in surpassing this goal before the year concludes.

Our absorption has increased year by year. The current absorption achievement is the largest in the history of Bulog Indramayu's establishment.

Branch head Apip Wijaya stated that absorption has increased annually, with the current figure being the largest in the branch's history. Bulog has been actively absorbing harvests since early in the year, capable of processing up to 2,000 tons of rice equivalent daily. The current absorption activities in Krangkeng district mark the end of the main rainy season harvest, but supplies are expected to continue flowing.

Through collaboration with the Indramayu Regency government and the local military command (Kodim 0616/Indramayu), Bulog has identified key areas preparing for the second planting season harvest. This strategic approach aims to ensure a steady flow of grain absorption throughout the remainder of the year. "After coordinating with the Head of the Agriculture Office, we know several sub-districts will be harvesting, including Kroya and Sukagumiwang. We will optimize those," Apip explained.

Bulog purchases dry harvested grain from farmers at the government purchase price of Rp 6,500 per kilogram, with immediate cash payments. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are providing support for the harvest absorption, aligning with national food self-sufficiency programs. The Indramayu Regency Agriculture Office head, Sugeng Heryanto, affirmed the local government's commitment to maximizing farmer yields, reinforcing Indramayu's status as a national food granary. Indramayu boasts 125,000 hectares of cultivated paddy fields with a cropping index of 1.8, allowing for up to two harvests annually, with an average production of 6.6 tons per hectare.
