Burgenland Governor Doskozil Begins Voice Training After Larynx Removal

Burgenland Governor Hans Peter Doskozil is gradually returning to his work routine following the complete removal of his larynx in April due to ossification. He announced on his Facebook page that his wound healing is progressing well and he has commenced training his new voice with the assistance of speech therapy.

Doskozil shared that he spoke his first words a few weeks after the surgery, describing the experience as incredibly liberating. He is now focused on intensive practice, comparing the process to learning a musical instrument. While he has resumed internal office duties, he anticipates needing more time before he is ready for public engagements.

He has remained in constant communication with his office and the state government team, conducting work electronically over the past weeks. His return to the office on Tuesday marks the beginning of his phased reintegration into his accustomed professional life. His doctors had previously stated that the voice would no longer be a "handicap" after the operation.
