Burundi, South Sudan Ruling Party Leaders Arrive Ahead of Museveni Inauguration

Uganda is set to host a significant regional gathering as senior leaders from Burundi's CNDD FDD and South Sudan's SPLM arrive for President Yoweri Museveni's seventh inauguration. This event underscores Uganda's continued role as a key player in East African stability and political discourse. The presence of these ruling party stalwarts signifies the strong, long-standing relationships President Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) have cultivated across the region.

Reverien Ndikuriyo, Secretary General of Burundi's CNDD FDD, highlighted the shared history of struggle for development and democracy between his party and the NRM. Similarly, Bol Makueng Yuo, Secretary for External Affairs of South Sudan's SPLM, referred to the NRM as a "friendly and pan African force."
