Bus Found Crushed Under Debris in La Guaira After Seismic Doublet

Rescue teams in La Guaira, Venezuela, discovered an Encava bus completely flattened beneath the rubble of the collapsed OPPE-26 building. The discovery occurred on Thursday during ongoing rescue operations after a significant seismic event. The bus was found on the street, crushed by the falling structure. Journalists on the scene reported the recovery of the bus's fare collectors, known locally as 'colectores,' and the body of the driver, though it had not yet been retrieved. The exact number of passengers on board during the tremors remains unknown. Efforts are now focused on identifying individuals who may have been inside the bus, including a young woman searching for her mother, Olga, who resided in the OPPE-26 building and was reportedly traveling on the bus. The OPPE, an acronym for Oficina Presidencial de Planes y Proyectos Especiales, was established in 2010 for housing projects.
