Businessman claims actress ex-partner inflicted gender-based violence on him

Businessman Luis Cavanagh has asserted that he was the victim of gender-based violence, claiming his ex-partner, actress Romina Gaetani, assaulted him. Cavanagh stated that he never injured anyone and that Gaetani struck him in the stomach after he had been hospitalized with a blood clot.

Appearing before prosecutor María José Basiglio, Cavanagh, 59, represented by lawyer Alfredo Soares Gache, denied all accusations. He is currently facing charges of minor aggravated lesiones for gender-based violence, stemming from an incident in late December. The case was initiated after Gaetani accused Cavanagh of physically assaulting her, throwing her to the ground, and dragging her out of their shared home in Pilar.

According to the judicial file, Cavanagh allegedly became violent after an argument, using his physical advantage to attack Gaetani, causing abrasions and bruises. However, Cavanagh presented a different account to investigators. He claims that after finding intimate messages on Gaetani's phone from another person, he confronted her, stating she had lied to him. He also mentioned that Gaetani had admitted to him that she had never been hit by him and had experienced a fit of rage.
