Local bakery brand ByBakingCorner (BBC) has strengthened its market position by obtaining halal certification, aiming to boost consumer trust and unlock greater business potential. The certification, achieved in 2023, now covers 60 of the company's stock-keeping units (SKUs).

Ain Fatinah Md. Shukor, the founder of BBC, stated that the halal certification was pursued to guarantee that every product is clean, safe, and meets established standards. "We were driven to obtain the halal certificate to ensure that every product produced is truly clean, safe, and complies with the set standards," she explained. This process also involved rigorous checks on raw materials, production methods, and operational hygiene.

BBC specializes in a variety of cakes, desserts, and baked goods, including custom-order cakes, burnt cheesecakes, dessert boxes, and cookies. Beyond daily sales, the company caters to diverse events such as birthdays, engagements, weddings, and corporate functions. The business began modestly in 2015 from home, fueled by a passion for baking, and expanded due to family support and increasing customer demand, eventually leading to the opening of their own shop.
