BYD accelerates hybrid mobility in Ecuador with two new SUVs at Auto Show 2026

BYD is accelerating Ecuador's sustainable mobility landscape with the introduction of two new plug-in hybrid SUVs at the Auto Show 2026 in Guayaquil. The brand officially unveiled the Yuan Pro DM-i and showcased the BYD Ti7 for the first time in the country.

The Yuan Pro DM-i is a plug-in hybrid SUV designed for efficiency, offering up to 100 kilometers of electric range and a combined range of 1,100 kilometers under NEDC cycle. It achieves a declared fuel consumption of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers, suitable for both city driving and interprovincial travel. The model is equipped with a 145 kW electric motor, a 1.5-liter combustion engine, and an 18.3 kWh Blade Battery, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. Its connectivity features include Google integration, Google Maps, 4G, OTA updates, Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and a 12.8-inch touchscreen.

The BYD Ti7, a large plug-in hybrid SUV making its Ecuadorian debut, is geared towards families and adventure. It provides seating for five passengers, over 1,000 kilometers of range, and intelligent all-wheel drive. Utilizing DM-p technology for enhanced performance, the Ti7 delivers a combined power of 360 kW (approximately 483 hp) and 650 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.3 seconds. It also includes specialized modes for mud, sand, snow, and mountain driving, alongside Sport, Eco, and Comfort configurations.

She emphasized that the brand's participation aims to immerse visitors in the electromobility revolution and new energy trends. The experience is further enhanced by PODCARS BYD, a live conversation space at the brand's stand discussing innovation, trends, technology, and mobility, featuring hosts Carlos Scavone and guests like Mariela Viteri and David Reinoso. With these launches, BYD reinforces its commitment to new energy vehicles and efficient mobility, highlighting its proprietary developments like the Blade Battery and DM-i platform.
