BYD Seal 5 Price Slashed by 70 Million VND in Vietnam, Competes with Honda Civic

BYD's Seal 5 sedan is making a significant splash in the Vietnamese market with a substantial price reduction of up to 70 million VND, bringing its actual price down to 626 million VND. This makes the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) directly competitive with mid-range versions of popular gasoline sedans like the Mazda3 and Kia K3, and even the hybrid Honda Civic e:HEV.

The Seal 5 stands out as the sole PHEV in Vietnam's C-segment sedan class. It boasts a 120km electric-only range and a combined range of approximately 1,200km. The vehicle utilizes BYD's proprietary Blade battery and a hybrid system that achieves an impressive fuel consumption of about 3.8 liters per 100km when the battery charge is above 25%.

Inside, the Seal 5 offers a minimalist design centered around a 12.8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Standard features include LED lighting, 17-inch alloy wheels, wireless phone charging, and a PM2.5 air filter. Safety is addressed with six airbags, cruise control, and a 360-degree camera.

BYD is backing the Seal 5 with a comprehensive warranty package: six years or 150,000km for the entire vehicle, and an extended eight years or 160,000km for the battery and electric motor. This strong warranty, combined with its competitive pricing and unique PHEV technology, positions the BYD Seal 5 as a compelling option for Vietnamese consumers.
