“Bye Bye, Kharg”: Trump Posts AI Image of Iran’s Oil Hub Under Attack

Donald Trump has again singled out Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil-export hub, with a stark message and an AI-generated image showing the island on fire. “Bye bye Kharg,” the U.S. president wrote on Truth Social alongside an image that appeared to show explosions as a military aircraft carried out strikes.

The warning came as Washington intensified pressure on Iran’s oil infrastructure and transport network. On Saturday, U.S. forces struck three Iranian oil tankers, including one near Kharg Island. Kharg Island sits in the Persian Gulf and has been one of the most important parts of Iran’s energy infrastructure. Before the conflict, almost 90% of Iranian crude exports passed through the island. Trump said Iranian oil exports were plunging and that oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz were returning to previous levels. The latest warning followed a U.S. Marines operation against an Iranian vessel near Kharg Island, putting the waters surrounding Iran’s principal oil-export hub at the center of the escalating pressure.
