Ca Mau establishes Vinh Loi ward, paving way for unique heritage tourism route

Vinh Loi commune in Ca Mau province has officially been upgraded to Vinh Loi ward, a move signaling a new era of urban development for the region. This transformation is not just an administrative change but a reflection of the area's rapid economic and social evolution.

Once primarily agricultural and known for its "Tai Nguyen" rice, Vinh Loi is now pivoting towards becoming a dynamic center for commerce, services, and industry in the northern part of Ca Mau province. This shift is evidenced by a growing non-agricultural workforce, which now stands at 71%, and a 59% urban population rate. The economic structure has seen a positive transition, with trade, services, and industry increasing their share while agriculture's proportion decreases.

According to provincial planning, Vinh Loi is designated as a key urban driver for the northern region. The area boasts a developed infrastructure, including transportation, education, and healthcare facilities. With a population exceeding 29,000 and covering over 61 square kilometers, the ward is projected to reach a per capita income of 81.84 million Vietnamese dong by 2025, with poverty rates expected to drop to around 0.40%.

Future development plans include the establishment of the Chau Hung A industrial cluster, spanning 50 hectares, to attract investment in high-tech agricultural processing, seafood, mechanics, and garment manufacturing. Additionally, Vinh Loi aims to leverage its cultural, historical, and ecological potential to develop tourism, including a planned "Three Rice Grains" park.
