Cabinet approves new rules for issuance and circulation of promissory notes

The Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers has adopted new rules governing the issuance and circulation of promissory notes, signaling an effort to modernize the country's financial landscape. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev signed the resolution, which introduces updated regulations for how these financial instruments are issued, circulated, and paid.

The primary objective behind these new rules is to refine financial mechanisms within Kyrgyzstan and ensure compliance with international standards. Specifically, the regulations are being aligned with the Law on the Accession of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Convention Providing a Uniform Law for Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes, also known as the Geneva Convention.

By implementing these changes, Kyrgyzstan anticipates a more transparent process for promissory notes. The updated framework is expected to foster better circulation of securities throughout the republic.
