Cabinet to meet under President Erdoğan, with ‘Terror-Free Türkiye,’ economic plan and rental housing on agenda

Türkiye’s cabinet will meet at the Presidential Complex under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with a packed agenda spanning security, foreign policy, housing and the economy. The central focus is expected to be the “Terror-Free Türkiye” process and the latest reports from the field.

Ministers are expected to discuss progress in the disarmament process, critical stages reached so far and the government’s next steps. Erdoğan previously described the process by saying, “We have made very important progress. God willing, we will increase our pace a little more. We have only one concern, and that is the peace and security of 86 million people.”

The cabinet is also expected to consider a rental social-housing project aimed at making housing more accessible to low- and middle-income citizens. The plan may extend across Türkiye rather than remain limited to Istanbul, with Erdoğan expected to provide further details after the meeting.

Foreign policy will include Erdoğan’s contacts during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit and developments in Syria. The government’s policy of protecting Syria’s territorial integrity and unity will be reviewed, as will the effects of fighting between the United States and Iran on energy markets, oil prices and Türkiye’s economy. “Ensuring Syria’s territorial integrity and unity remains our priority,” Erdoğan has said.

Economic discussions are expected to cover the details of the Medium-Term Programme, Türkiye’s three-year economic roadmap. Ministers will also address inflation, growth, employment and implementation of the programme’s targets.
