Cablebús Line 5 to slash travel time and costs for Álvaro Obregón residents

Residents of Álvaro Obregón are set to benefit from substantial time and cost savings with the upcoming Line 5 of the Cablebús. Mayor Javier López Casarín highlighted that the new cable car line will transform daily commutes, reducing travel time by an average of 40 minutes. A journey that currently takes 76 minutes by public transport will be completed in just 36 minutes using the Cablebús.

The financial benefits are equally significant. For residents traveling from San Bartolo Ameyalco to Mixcoac, the daily cost will drop from 14.50 pesos to 7 pesos, a saving of 7.50 pesos per trip. Similarly, those commuting from Lomas de la Era and La Angostura will see their expenses decrease from 18 pesos to 7 pesos, saving 11 pesos on each journey. Other routes, including those from Tetelpan, Centenario, Colinas del Sur, and Olivar del Conde, will also experience notable reductions in travel costs.

López Casarín emphasized that Line 5 will provide a safer and more efficient mobility alternative for thousands of inhabitants. The improved connectivity is expected to bring "great benefits" to Álvaro Obregón, facilitating faster travel and better integration with the rest of the city. This development aims to bring opportunities closer to thousands of families by making daily transit more accessible and economical.
