Cameroon Inaugurates Key Energy Infrastructure to Boost Supply and Sovereignty

Cameroon's energy sector is set to receive a significant boost with the inauguration of three key infrastructure projects by the Société Camerounaise des Dépôts Pétroliers (SCDP). These developments are poised to enhance national energy security and self-sufficiency.

The newly commissioned infrastructure includes a state-of-the-art gas sphere in Bonabéri, which dramatically increases the country's domestic cooking gas storage capacity by 40%. Additionally, a new pipeline connecting the Port of Douala to Bessengué has been established, streamlining fuel transportation. The SCDP also unveiled a modern, new headquarters, symbolizing the company's growth and commitment.

Presided over by the Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba, and SCDP General Manager Véronique Manzoua épouse Moampea Mbio, the ceremony underscored the strategic importance of these projects. The investments are designed to ensure a stable and secure supply of both gas and fuel across the nation, a critical step towards strengthening Cameroon's energy sovereignty.
