Cameroon's Port Authority and IRIC Forge Strategic Partnership for Modernization

Cameroon's National Ports Authority (APN) has formalized a strategic partnership with the Institute of International Relations of Cameroon (IRIC) to drive modernization within the port sector. The agreement, signed on July 21, 2026, in Yaoundé, aims to bridge the gap between academia and the realities of the port, maritime, and logistics industries.

Spearheaded by IRIC Director Urbain Ndongo and APN Director General Willie Tsanga Mba, the collaboration is built on four key pillars. These include fostering applied research on port challenges, enhancing the capabilities of APN personnel, promoting exchanges between researchers and industry professionals, and facilitating internships and research supervision for students aligned with practical needs.

The APN views this initiative as a crucial step in consolidating its performance improvement strategy by leveraging academic expertise. The partnership with IRIC is also intended to cultivate a skilled workforce adept at navigating the dynamic maritime sector and to bolster the institution's role in national port governance.
