Campania's healthcare at risk of paralysis, warns Naples industrialists

The healthcare system in Campania faces a critical risk of paralysis, according to the Union of Industrialists of Naples. Giovanni Severino, the delegate for healthcare at the Union, expressed grave concern over the escalating situation, emphasizing that the window to prevent widespread disruption to services is rapidly closing.

There is a risk of blocking entire services, from hospital care to radiology, from nuclear medicine to analysis laboratories, from rehabilitation to dialysis.

The core of the problem lies in the failure to sign contracts between local health authorities (Asl) and accredited private facilities. These facilities have been operating without guarantees since the beginning of 2026, facing increasing delays in payments and uncertainty regarding spending limits that the Region has yet to define. Severino noted that fundamental requests, such as removing budget constraints for essential emergency services, have gone unanswered.
