Canada launches trade war against U.S. with retaliatory tariffs

Relations between Canada and the United States have plummeted to an all-time low, marked by the initiation of a full-blown trade war. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that Canada will impose punitive tariffs on American imports, mirroring the measures taken by U.S. President Donald Trump against Canadian goods.

The Prime Minister ordered the Canadian delegation to return from Washington to Ottawa when it turned out that the Americans were setting conditions whose fulfillment would de facto transform Canada, if not into an American colony, then certainly into a dependent country.
