Candidate Asks Supporters to Stop Negative Reviews for Noodle Shop Tied to Mayor Recall

Taipei mayoral candidate Steve Chang has called on his supporters to cease posting negative online reviews for the "Dong Fa Hao" noodle shop. The plea comes as the establishment has become a symbolic battleground in the ongoing recall effort against incumbent Mayor Chiang Wan-an.

Chang's appeal followed his visit to the popular eatery. During his visit, the shop's owner reportedly invited Chang to sign his name on a wall. Notably, the owner also revealed a previously covered menu, displaying a signature from Mayor Chiang Wan-an, dated from 2022. This juxtaposition of signatures appears to have amplified the shop's political significance.

The "Dong Fa Hao" noodle shop has found itself at the center of a contentious political situation. The owner's actions, including displaying both signatures, have drawn attention to the shop's perceived stance in the recall movement.
