Canelones Intendancy Opens New Job Call for Doctors with Salaries Over $73,000

The Intendancy of Canelones is seeking to fill four vacant positions for medical doctors within its General Directorate of Transit and Transportation. The role involves a 40-hour work week with a nominal monthly salary of $73,563 Uruguayan pesos, corresponding to the "Pc" grade of the Professional Scale, in addition to social benefits.

The sole mandatory qualification for applicants is a university degree as a medical doctor. Two of the positions are designated for the transit medicine services in Ciudad de la Costa and Pando, while the other two will serve in Canelones and Las Piedras. Candidates are permitted to apply for both sets of positions.

Selected physicians will undertake various responsibilities, including performing "psychophysical" aptitude examinations for driving license applicants, providing medical assistance and first aid as required, conducting medical guard duties, reporting infectious diseases, and compiling statistics on detected illnesses. They will also be responsible for maintaining records of examinations, issuing medical certifications, participating in medical boards and multidisciplinary teams, and overseeing the proper functioning of medical equipment.

Interested individuals must complete an online application form available on the Government of Canelones portal. The application period is currently open and will close on June 22 at 3:30 PM. This initiative aims to bolster the health services within the transit and transportation sector of the Canelones region.
