Car Breaks Down on Highway, Truck Collision Kills 7-Year-Old, Injures Others

A tragic accident on the TEM Highway in Turkey claimed the life of a 7-year-old child after a truck collided with their family's car. The incident occurred around 2:00 AM near Maşukiye Mahallesi as the family's car, driven by İ.M., had pulled over to the emergency lane due to a mechanical failure.

While İ.M. and his wife, G.M., were outside inspecting the vehicle, an unidentified truck struck their car. The impact caused the car to be dragged, and the truck veered off the road, crashing into trees and overturning into a watering channel.

Emergency services, including gendarmerie, firefighters, and medical teams, responded to the scene. Paramedics confirmed the death of the 7-year-old, identified as E.M., who was inside the car. İ.M., G.M., and their other child sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.

Following an on-site investigation, E.M.'s body was taken to the Kocaeli State Hospital morgue for an autopsy. The truck driver was taken to a gendarmerie station for questioning. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the fatal collision.
