Car crashes through gates of two homes in Đắk Lắk, causing $500,000 in damage

A Mazda 6 crashed through the gates of two homes in Đắk Lắk shortly after midnight, bringing the structures down onto two cars parked inside one of the properties.

The crash took place at about 12:14 a.m. on Aug. 31 as Y.G.N., 36, drove along Y Wang Street in Ea Kao Ward toward the local People’s Committee office. At a bend in the road, the car suddenly veered right and struck the gates of both homes.

The Mazda suffered heavy damage to its front end. The two residents’ cars were also partly damaged, along with other property at the scene. Total losses are estimated at about 500 million Vietnamese dong.

Initial assessments by authorities indicated that the driver may not have slowed down or paid sufficient attention while negotiating the bend. The Đắk Lắk provincial traffic police department continues to investigate the cause and assess the damage. No fatalities or injuries were reported.
