Khanh Hoa Traffic Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects Fleeing Toward Ho Chi Minh City

Two men suspected of snatching a woman’s bag in Gia Lai were arrested while trying to reach Ho Chi Minh City, police in Khanh Hoa said.

The incident occurred at about 8:50 a.m. on Aug. 28 near the Tuy Phuoc intersection in Gia Lai, close to Ong Do Bridge. The 65-year-old victim, identified as L.T.N., was riding a bicycle when a man on a motorcycle allegedly asked her for directions and then grabbed her bag. It contained identity documents and about 5 million Vietnamese dong.

After receiving the alert, Khanh Hoa traffic police coordinated with Gia Lai police and increased checks along National Highway 1. At about 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 30, officers stopped a motorcycle at kilometer 1534 after its two riders matched the descriptions provided.

Police identified the riders as H.B.L., 21, and N.T.H., 19. L., who was driving, allegedly admitted carrying out the robbery and said the pair then rode from Gia Lai toward Ho Chi Minh City to avoid arrest. Authorities took the suspects, motorcycle and evidence into custody for further investigation.
