Car hit by stone thrown from footbridge over motorway

A car was hit by a stone on Sunday afternoon as it drove beneath a footbridge on Denmark’s Køge Bugt Motorway.

The driver, a 42-year-old woman from Greve, was not injured. She told police that the stone, which struck the windshield, was about the size of a tennis ball.

The stone came from above, but the woman did not see anyone on the footbridge, police said. Police are investigating two other incidents involving cars hit by possible stones thrown from motorway bridges as deliberate acts.
