Car Hits Two Motorcycles at Red Light in Kaohsiung, Driver Flees Scene

A hit-and-run incident in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, has left one woman injured and authorities searching for the driver responsible. The collision occurred early on August 9th at the intersection of Minzu 2nd Road and Bade 1st Road when a car struck two motorcycles that were waiting at a red light.

The impact caused a 29-year-old female motorcyclist, identified by the surname Ke, to suffer abrasions to her right knee. She was conscious and alert when emergency services arrived and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, her injuries were not life-threatening.

According to police reports, the driver of the car stopped briefly after the crash to assess the situation. However, instead of remaining at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement as required, the driver fled the area. Police have since been actively reviewing surveillance footage from the surrounding area to gather information about the vehicle and its driver.

Authorities are urging the driver to come forward and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to their capture. The police emphasized the legal obligation for drivers involved in accidents to remain at the scene and report the incident, warning against any attempts to evade responsibility.
