Car Plunges into River After Driver Swerves to Avoid Animal

A car driven by a 56-year-old local man plunged into the Langat River near the National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) Dusun Tua in Hulu Langat, Malaysia, on Tuesday night. The incident occurred around 9:13 PM, with the driver reportedly attempting to avoid an animal that had entered the roadway.

According to Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, the man was driving from Sungai Congkak towards Nilai. While traversing Jalan Hulu Langat, he claimed to have seen an object, believed to be an animal, crossing the road from left to right. His evasive maneuver resulted in him losing control of the vehicle, causing it to skid and fall into the river.

Fortunately, the driver escaped the accident without any injuries. The incident only caused damage to his vehicle and did not involve any collisions with other cars or public property. However, police are urging motorists to be vigilant when using this particular stretch of road, especially following two similar incidents reported in the area.

Naazron advised drivers to slow down gradually and avoid sudden swerving if they encounter animals or other obstacles. Such abrupt actions can lead to a loss of vehicle control, potentially resulting in accidents.
